Wooly-chan's Japan Adventure Part 1

Tadaima~ Kiru back again! ^o^

As some of you may have known, I've been away in Japan with my little Baby Wooly buddy~
I thought it might be nice to share what myself and Wooly-chan got up to on our Japan adventures!

So here we are the evening before we leave~ Wooly-chan is ready and super excited! As you can see he's going with Rilakkuma and Monchhichi as he's a little afraid of flying~

On the left is Wooly in Heathrow Airport London waiting to board our plane to Japan~ He was very excited as he hadn't been back to Japan since he was born!
When we left the UK it was beginning to get dark and when we finally arrived in Japan it was also dark, so it felt as though we had been travelling for a whole day (which wasn't far from the truth) (>o<;;)zZz

After a good nights rest we settled into our apartment in the south of Tokyo and then we set off exploring for the day.

We went to the famous Meguro River where we saw our first Cherry Blossoms of the season~ They were so beautiful and nearly as big as Wooly-chan!

After a long day of walking around we decided it was time to have some nice and healthy Sushi!

We hopped on a train in Tokyo and traveled all the way to Hakone, which is a beautiful Onesen town famous for its relaxing hot spring baths and views of Mt. Fuji! Sadly it was a bit too cloudy to see Mt. Fuji this time but the town itself was very reminiscent of Spirited away~ It was very peaceful and dreamlike (❁´▽`❁)*✲゚*

After a relaxing day Wooly-Chan and I settled into our traditional Japanese style room, which consists of Tatami mats with futon bedding and of course a lovely steaming hot cup of green tea!
Unfortunately Wooly-Chan had watched far too many Japanese horror movies ((( 〇A〇)) and insisted on checking that the cupboard didn't have any spooky ghosts in before he got ready for bed.

That's all for now as Wooly Chan became rather sleepy (=o=zZz
Thank you very much for reading our blog post. Keep an eye out for our next post when Wooly-Chan and Kiru go to Kyoto in part 2 of Wooly Chan's Japan Trip~

Until next time! Part 2 coming soon~

Candy Festival at Hyper Japan.

Hello everybody! Kiru here~
Some of you may have visited our pop up shop at Hyper Japan last month. If you did you would have seen that we had many interesting areas to visit, including Tofu Cute Snacks, Amuse Mini Shop, The Amuse Photo Opportunity, our sister company Dreamy Bows and last but not least, tucked away at the back, Tofu Cute x Hyper Japan Candy Festival!
This was the 3rd Candy Festival we have run and it was by far the most fun and enjoyable yet!

For those that haven't been, some may be wondering what Candy Festival is?
Well... Candy Festival is a Japanese snacks tasting area that allows each person to try a wide variety of delicious and kawaii sweet confectionery from Japan.

How does it work?

Well you come on over to our Tofuken Sales Kiosk and purchase some Tofukens for £1 each!
You then receive a tray to put your delicious snacks on..

If you were very good you might also get a Candy Festival sticker which reads "Official Taste Tester" We know that most people come to Hyper Japan just to get these very stickers and then go home. We completely understand.. it's fabulous and also... very..very official. (。•̀ᴗ-)✧

You then take your tray over to one of our charming Candy Chefs~ "Hello Chef!"  ( ・ω・)ノ

We had 6 different sections of Japanese Candy to choose from, Biscuits, Candy, Puccho (chewy sweets), Chocolate, Pocky and Japanese Kit Kats~ Some of our "Candy Tasters" would have a flick through their Candy Guide to see what sort of candy they wanted to try, whilst they waited to be served.

For every Tofuken our Candy Chef would dish you up a portion of lucky dip Japanese candy pick-n-mix~ So it was very exciting~ Too exciting for some ╰(✧∇✧╰)

We had lots of happy Taste Testers~ Some had never tried Japanese Candy before so it was really fun! Some wanted to see what was so cute and kawaii about Japanese snacks~ And now they know all about it  ♪(((#^-^)八(^_^*)))♪

We got some really cool photographs of lots of yummy looking trays. As you can see there was quite a lot of variety. Everyone got to try lots of different flavours, shapes and sizes of Japanese snacks.
Here are some awesome examples of what sort of candy you might get from Candy Festival~

Thank you for reading our Blog and we hope you enjoyed learning about Candy Festival. If you did attend Hyper Japan and participated in Candy Festival we would love to know what you thought of it~ (^O^)?

And last of all a huge thank you from all the Tofu Cute team for making Hyper Japan Christmas Market 2015 one of the best and most amazing events we have ever done!

From everyone here at Tofu Cute we wish you all a very Merry Christmas ~ and the best of wishes for 2016.  See you all next year~

Gudetama at Disneyland

It was a cold and wet autumn day in Portsmouth at the Tofu Cute shop and Gudetama was bored (as usual).
He longed for adventure. He wanted to see what magical wonders the world had to offer..
He felt a little sleepy so he closed his eyes and imagined..........

Suddenly the sound of singing filled the air. Gudetama felt as though he were moving.
He opened his eyes and looked to his right with surprise and joy. For low and behold was a ticket.. a ticket to Disney Land Paris! Gudetama was so excited he could hardly contain himself.

He was on his way to Disney Land, surrounded by all his Tofu Friends~

As they drew close Gudetama knew this was going to be a wonderful trip.
Even though he was only a little egg known for his overall disinterest in many things, he couldn't resist the magic of Disney!

Gudetama asked to use the moving walkway as he wanted to get to the parks as quickly as possible and with only his little legs to carry him, he knew it would take too long! And he just couldn't wait.

He was finally here! Once Gudetama got inside the park, he realised it was decorated in a Halloween theme, with spooky sounds, ghastly ghosts and petrifying pumpkins!

Gudetama was so taken aback that he needed to sit down and have a bite to eat, but to his amazement even the food was spooky and cute! He had a doughnut that was decorated in orange icing and tiny sugar bats with a little chocolate badge that had a pumpkin on. Halloween at Disney was truly magical he thought to himself~

The girls from Tofu Cute were so excited as well and couldn't resist a photograph in front of the iconic Disney castle. The weather was perfect too~

They walked around Alice's Curious Labyrinth and made their way to the top of the Queen of Hearts Castle! There they had a lovely view of the park as the sun set.

What a day! They headed off to get some food. Gudetama met up with his cousin and their friend who reminded Gudetama a lot of his friend back in Japan: Kirimi.
Unfortunately they didn't stay very long.

Gudetama was very thirsty and tried to have a drink from a particularly fancy glass. It didn't go too well and Gudetama swore to stick to his own range of Gudetama cups from that moment on. Gudetama asked his friends at Tofu Cute to stock his Gudetama cups in the future as he didn't want this to happen to any of his friends around the world~ The Tofu Cute team said they would try their best!

The next day Gudetama was very tired so he asked his friend Wee-Chan to help him out and carry him along with her other Amuse Loppy Poteusa friends.

Gudetama couldn't wait to get going but paused for a quick photograph in front of the main Disney Land Hotel because it was so cute and grand.

Gudetama wanted to know how Disney managed to be so wonderful?!
So he hopped aboard the Studio Tram Tour to see what really was 'Behind the Magic.'
He was very excited as he had never been on a tram before.

Gudetama didn't realise there was a special effects demonstration halfway around and got very wet. Luckily there was also a huge fiery explosion demonstration which dried him off. Needless to say, he was rather distressed! Gudetama said it was scarier than the haunted house.

Next they went to meet some of the Disney Characters. Gudetama clung to Wee-chan when they met Jafar as he was too scary for him.

The Tofu Cute team wanted a group photo so Gudetama offered to take a few for them. It was a little tricky with his tiny arms, but the pictures turned out great.

Next up was the main Disney Parade~ Gudetama couldn't wait for it to start. He was most looking forward to seeing the beautiful Princesses.

Riv-chan was most excited to see Princess Elsa so Gudetama took a quick photo as the float neared.

The trip was coming to a close and so the Tofu Cute girls did some shopping.
Gudetama didn't know what to do as nothing was in Japnese Yen and he had forgot to bring his Euros.
Luckily Bobbu-chan bought Gudetama a few
souvoniers to take back to Portsmouth.

It was nearly time to go home and everyone was very sad. They didn't want to leave! It had been a wonderful relaxing break away from all of the usual hard work.

Suddenly...
It was as if the clock was striking midnight.
Gudetama looked around to see to see a shower of glitter fill the air along with the sound of tinkling bells. Everything went dark.
Gudetama closed his eyes tight hoping that the sounds would go away.

Slowly...he opened his eyes... and to his surprise he was in his bed at home...

Had he imagined the whole thing? He wasn't sure but he knew for sure that he wanted to go back again as soon as possible.

He closed his eyes and tried to relive the wonderful dream of Disney Land.

Now you know when Gudetama is trying to sleep and seems too lazy to wake up. It's because he's trying very hard to get back to his Disney Land dreamland with all of his friends... ♥
